I use different mediums and consider myself a mixed media artist.
Printmaking, painting, drawing and collage are processes I delight in.
I enjoy taking photos of nature...
trees.. water..,sky... garden.
I may choose to create a unique image by layering one photo with another photo or with a drawing or a painting .
There is a section where you can view these.
The image can then be printed.
This will be a mixed media digital print.
The bird above is a digital fine art drawing print.
I began to make unique and creative videos for my grandsons, friends and relatives.
I use my photos and drawings and a pixellation and video application.
I make personal ones and would create a gem video if you interested.
Born in Brooklyn , New York.
BA in Fine Arts Boston University
B.F.A.in Art Education
Concordia University, Montreal, Canada
M.Ed in Special Ed University of Pittsburgh
I subwayed from Brooklyn to
The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
It was one and a half hours away and I landed in another world.
I was 17 when I entered the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
I was first attracted to the force and earthiness of Cézanne's portraits, and how he built up form in his landscapes and fruit with his strokes.
I immersed in Monet's works.
He painted atmospheres of color and light.
It was like entering into an an ephemera where one could just linger on and on.
His energy was light and air;
Cezanne's earth and fire.
Seeing the works of artists inspired me to pursue and major in Art History at Boston University.
I love art... from all different cultures...from masters who create paintings of tenderness and charm like Chagall , to the poetry and lyricism of Klee, to being in awe of the unparalleled genius of Leonardo' drawings
I decided to pursue a degree in
Art Education at Concordia University in Montreal.
I was amazed to see and fall in love with
Inuit Art . The course catalog at B.U. offered no classes about this culture when I was a student
I taught art for over thirty years.... much that I do and create and how I see the world is deeply impacted by my shared experiences with children.
I like to make gifts!
I created a picture alphabet book for my grandson and wrote and designed a book inspired by the spirit of Leonardo called Leaves to Leonardo.
I enjoy making wearable items such as eucalyptus dyed scarves, rust and indigo
apparel and silk eco art pillows.
Making videos during the pandemic became a new fun focus.
They incorporate music , art, animation.
and celebrate occasions such as birthdays, holidays, wellness wishes, thankfulness and delighting in the alphabet.

mixed media digital fine art print
I read about this migratory bird one day in the Science section of the NY Times.
It is a stunning story.
The bird travels over 7,000 or so miles from Alaska to New Zealand without eating or refueling.
It continuously flaps its wings for about
237 hours.
New Zealanders welcome the birds by ringing church bells.
The 2 end works are sections of pieces using rust.
Indigo dye acts to resist rust.
The center work is a leaf print on a Gelli plate.
Contaact me if you are interested in seeing more of these creations.
